State Begins Collecting Mosquitos - Erika Kurre
The West Nile Virus is a higher threat in Nashville this summer than it has been in years.
So the Metro Health Department is already setting mosquito traps.
They're going to the places in Nashville most known for the insects, trying to find where to treat with larvacide and testing for West Nile Virus.
The recent rain and warm temperatures have made middle Tennessee the perfect breeding grounds for mosquitos--making the risk of getting West Nile Virus even greater.
The health department is setting several traps in the West Meade area.
They're also treating with larvacide and urging you to make sure there is no standing water or overgrown vegetation near your home.
