Concert Benefits Tornado Victims - Sky Arnold
Red Boiling Springs might seem like an unusual place for a concert headlined by the Oak Ridge Boys and Tanya Tucker.
Saturday night they joined dozens of country performers in a benefit concert in the tiny community to help raise money for last February's tornado victims.
"It is the least we can do. There's a lot of people really hurting in this county," said Oak Ridge Boys member Joe Bonsall.
The concert was organized by Jett Williams, the daughter of legendary country star Hank Williams, as a way to help victims who may still be struggling to recover from the tornado.
"We're just trying to raise as much money as possible to help as many people as possible," said Williams.
A total of 14 people died in Macon County alone in the February 5th tornado.
Many who survived are like Judy and Lawrence York. Still struggling to rebuild.
"We're just now getting a settlement on it and we're still gonna need money to add to it to get close to where we were," said Lawrence York.
Money raised will be handed out to the victims with the most need in Middle Tennessee and Kentucky.
