Fireworks Keep First Responders Busy - Cindy Carter

Emergency responders across Middle Tennessee spent the holiday weekend putting out fires and treating injuries associated with fireworks. Right now, Nashville firefighters believe fireworks likely sparked the fire that burned up Nicole Puckett's west Nashville duplex.

Puckett and her daughter were at the Kenny Chesney concert Saturday when the fire started. By the time she got home, nothing was left.

Puckett says, "It was very overwhelming to see everything that you have and that you've worked for... for a long time for these kids... gone."

Puckett's life savings also burned up in the house. Right now, the Red Cross is helping the family with temporary shelter.

Over in Montgomery County, at least eight people were treated for fireworks related injuries. That list includes a little girl severely burned by a mortar that landed on her chest.

Also in Maury County, A Columbia police officer is recovering from burns he received after a young person shot fireworks at his patrol car.Fireworks Keep First Responders Busy - Cindy Carter
