Grand Jury Hearing on Haynesworth Speeding Ticket
FRANKLIN, Tenn. (AP) -- Tennessee All Pro defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth will have a grand jury consider a speeding ticket he received after being clocked traveling more than 100 mph in a 70-mph zone on Interstate 65.
Williamson County General Sessions Judge Denise Andre agreed Wednesday to let a grand jury hear the testimony involving the ticket Haynesworth was given around 9:10 p.m. March 4.
A Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper clocked Haynesworth traveling at 103 mph, passing slower traffic in his Cadillac Escalade.
According to the ticket, a background check showed three previous speeding citations for Haynesworth with the most recent on April 5, 2006.
A prosecutor said during the hearing that drivers found guilty of exceeding 100 mph in Williamson County can face up to 48 hours in jail.
Attorney Glen Funk, who is representing Haynesworth, declined to comment when asked about the case by The Associated Press.
