Subcontractor Shot While Working on I-40
Metro police are searching for two gunmen who shot at a group of subcontractors working on I-40 Wednesday night.
The shooting occurred around 9 p.m. on I-40 east bound near mile marker 208.
Metro police Captain Michele Donegan said the crew was working on a lane fiber optic line when they heard multiple gunshots; one of the workers was shot in the wrist.
The injured man was taken to Baptist Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Donegan said the group told police they a white truck driving by when the shots were fired at them. The group described the truck as a 2007 white Ford 150 with two black males inside.
There's no clear motive in the shooting and police aren't sure if the crew was the intended target, said Donegan.
