High School Army Recruiting Concerns
Concern tonight about high school senior's information being released to military recruiters.
Some parents in Franklin county have complained about the military ability to access school information for the purposes of recruitment.
According to franklin county high school principal Diana Spaulding, the parents are just not aware of the specifics of the law.
The no child left behind act also allows military recruiters to have the same access to 18-year old students information as is provided to colleges or prospective employers.
The information generally includes students' names, addresses, and telephone listings.
The data can be requested two-weeks after school begins.
But parents can opt out of this by notifying the school's guidance counselors.
