Man Responsible for School Lockdown Caught
Rutherford County authorities have captured a man they say threatened to march into a local school with a gun.
U.S. Marshals captured William Irwin of Smyrna in West Tennessee Monday night.
Police put Smyrna High School on lockdown for several hours Monday afternoon after they say Irwin surprised his wife at a domestic violence office and kidnapped her counselor.
Officials say Irwin took the woman to a Smyrna gas station and told her he was going to kidnap his son from school.
Authorities say Irwin never showed up at Smyrna High.
Irwin was charged with domestic assault last June and his wife had placed a protective order against him.Man Responsible for School Lockdown Caught
