WBFF Fox 45 :: Babysitter Charged in Death of Murfreesboro 2-month-old
Mary Ann Lane, 57, of Antioch, was arrested on Saturday in connection with the death of a two-month-old.
According to Metro Police, the mother and grandmother reported that Lane called them on the evening of August 13 while she was babysitting and said she had tripped and fallen while holding Maddox Roberts of Murfreesboro, causing him to also hit the floor.  Lane called 911.
Paramedics worked to resuscitate and stabilize the victim before transporting him to Vanderbilt.  He died on August 15.
Autopsy findings showed that Maddox suffered extensive head injuries inconsistent with Lane’s claim of a fall.  The Medical Examiner’s Office concluded the child died as the result of homicide.
In addition to murder, Lane is charged with aggravated child abuse and aggravated child neglect. Lane is being held in the Metro Jail in lieu of $200,000 bond.Babysitter Charged in Death of Murfreesboro 2-month-old

Witness rescues toddler from railroad tracks
June 19, 2013 11:23 GMT

ROCKWOOD, Tenn. (AP) -- Authorities have arrested the parents of a toddler found alone on railroad tracks in Rockwood.

The Knoxville News Sentinel (http://bit.ly/1asg9U3 ) cited an officer's report which said a witness saw the 2-year-old on the rails and picked him up shortly before a train came through the town on Saturday.

Jonathan Noah White, who is 30, and 24-year-old Rahab Jaramillo were arrested and booked into the Roane County Jail on charges of aggravated child abuse and neglect.

The incident report states the child's grandmother told police the boy was often left with her, but she was on "too many medications" to watch him. The boy was put into Department of Children's Services custody.
