WBFF Fox 45 :: Beech's Perfect Season Gets Perfect Sendoff - Eric Alvarez
Buccaneers football fans come in all shapes and sizes.  From mayors, to college coaches, to kids and each of them was a voice cheering in the bleachers during the 2012 season.

"This school really is about community and those guys [the fans] are very, very supportive," said Anthony Crabtree, head football coach.  "They believe in what we're doing and it's a great place to be."

That support continued Sunday at Beech's gym where hundreds were on hand to celebrate the team's second 5-A state title in three years and the storybook ending for a senior quarterback Lincoln Kenitzer.

"Knowing that we can go out with this type of a season as good as it gets," Kenitzer said.  "It's pretty unbelievable."

But the season wasn't just unbelievable, it was perfect: 15 wins, 0 losses.  And the run ended November 30th with a 56-35 win over Columbia Central in the state championship game.

Junior running back Jalen Hurd ran for seven touchdowns and state championship record 394 yards that night, but despite all his personal accomplishments, No. 18, says the team s work isn't finished.

"It definitely isn't," Hurd said.  "I think next year we can have a good a year as we did this year.  We're just going to have to put a lot of hard work into it and get the younger guys to step up.

Even though Kenitzer has played his last game as a Buccaneer and is looking forward to playing in college, he says he'll never forget the perfect season or the state title.  Sunday, the team captain took one last chance to send a message to his younger teammates.

"Get in the weight room, Kenitzer said.  "Start preparing because 15-0 and a state championship doesn't just come by you showing up they got to work for it."

Head coach Anthony Crabtree says winning back to back state titles is no easy task but he does have 50 returning sophomores and juniors, including Hurd, one of the best players in the state.

Former Dyer County constable sentenced to prison
May 23, 2013 12:50 GMT

DYERSBURG, Tenn. (AP) -- Former Dyer County Constable Derick Shane Hundley has been sentenced to 25 years in federal prison.

The State Gazette (http://bit.ly/14UHydd ) reported Hundley was sentenced Monday after earlier entering a guilty plea to enticement of a minor through electronic means. The government dropped a child pornography count.

Prosecutors said Hundley, who is 30, used a cellphone to try to entice a minor female to have sex with him. Police arrested Hundley last July and found an external hard drive that contained numerous images of minors involved in sex. He resigned from the constable post he had won in 2010 after his arrest.
