WBFF Fox 45 :: Bowling Green Officer Involved Shooting
Kentucky State Police responded early this morning to an officer shooting involving a Bowling Green police officer. Officer Keith Casada Jr. shot one round into Gregory H. Harrison’s upper midsection. Harrison was later pronounced dead.

BGPD received a call at 1:37 AM from Harrison who said he was going to kill his brother and that he was in the parking lot with a gun. He refused to answer any of the dispatcher’s questions. When police found Harrison near the 1100 block of Clay Street he was standing on the railroad tracks screaming for officers to shoot him. Police say he was highly intoxicated and was hiding one of his hands when he started to approach officers. Harrison refused their verbal commands which led Officer Casada to shoot.

Officer Casada has been placed on administrative leave per Bowling Green Police Department Policy. Officer Casada has been with the BGPD for two years. The investigation is ongoing.

Witness rescues toddler from railroad tracks
June 19, 2013 11:23 GMT

ROCKWOOD, Tenn. (AP) -- Authorities have arrested the parents of a toddler found alone on railroad tracks in Rockwood.

The Knoxville News Sentinel (http://bit.ly/1asg9U3 ) cited an officer's report which said a witness saw the 2-year-old on the rails and picked him up shortly before a train came through the town on Saturday.

Jonathan Noah White, who is 30, and 24-year-old Rahab Jaramillo were arrested and booked into the Roane County Jail on charges of aggravated child abuse and neglect.

The incident report states the child's grandmother told police the boy was often left with her, but she was on "too many medications" to watch him. The boy was put into Department of Children's Services custody.
