Wednesday night kicks off the start of the SEC men's basketball tournament in Nashville. Tip off is at 6:30pm at Bridgestone Arena where #12 South Carolina will take on #13 Mississippi State. That game will be followed by Texas A&M vs. Auburn.
The tournament is expected to bring in thousands of fans to Music City. Local hotels are completely sold-out through the weekend, and restaurants and bars are preparing to bring in extra staff to accomodate the larger crowds.
The last time Nashville hosted the SEC tournament was back in 2010. Local businesses will be banking off the tournament for years to come. Music City is slated to host the SEC tournament at Bridgestone Arena again in 2015 and 2016

Houston brother will be his own attorney in court

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- A Roane County man will face federal gun violation charges next month without an attorney.
The Knoxville News Sentinel (http://bit.ly/17VlXpM ) reported Rocky Joe Houston will represent himself on a charge of possession of a gun by a felon.
The charge came after Houston earlier represented himself in state court on charges stemming from a police chase. He was convicted of evading arrest and reckless endangerment.
Houston and his brother, Leon Houston, were tried, but not convicted, in the 2006 shooting deaths of a Roane County deputy and his ride-along companion.
In federal court, Rocky Joe Houston is claiming the officer who charged him with the felony had no legal authority.
