Richard Bigsby was arrested yesterday for stealing a car in north Nashville when the driver of the vehicle went in a school to pick up children.
Metro Police attempted to pull over the 28-year-old on Oct. 15 after he allegedly stole the car from 1118 Clay St. Bigsby, however, continued at a high rate of speed with no regards for pedestrians, and did not obey traffic signs, according to police reports.
Bigsby bailed out of the vehicle in an alley near 11th Ave. N., but was located by police shortly after at 1015 Jefferson St.
In the car, police found digital scales with cocaine residue. They also found two Lortabs on Bigsby.
Bigsby is being held in the Davidson County Jail on $163,000 bond.

Houston brother will be his own attorney in court

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- A Roane County man will face federal gun violation charges next month without an attorney.
The Knoxville News Sentinel (http://bit.ly/17VlXpM ) reported Rocky Joe Houston will represent himself on a charge of possession of a gun by a felon.
The charge came after Houston earlier represented himself in state court on charges stemming from a police chase. He was convicted of evading arrest and reckless endangerment.
Houston and his brother, Leon Houston, were tried, but not convicted, in the 2006 shooting deaths of a Roane County deputy and his ride-along companion.
In federal court, Rocky Joe Houston is claiming the officer who charged him with the felony had no legal authority.
