WBFF Fox 45 :: Child Abduction Update
Police remain on the hunt for suspects who committed a bold crime in Antioch .
Tomorrow child experts will interview a little boy, who was abducted in his mother's stolen car.
The uncle didn't want to go on camera since the suspects have not been caught.
He did tell us the little boy and his mother are OK tonight obviously still shaken from last nights events.
But this crime affected more than just those immediately involved- neighbors in the area say they are on high alert.
Police say surveillance video shows a stolen Maroon Chevrolet Lumnia pulling into the parking lot of the TA truck stop thirty minutes after it was stolen with a five year old in the back seat.
Terry Williams says, “I just kind of hate that even if you leave your car- even if you leave your keys in it someone that would try to steal it or disrespect anybody's property it does concern me.”
According to police a 29 year old mother went inside her aunt's house in the 3600 block of Bentfield drive to get her other child ...leaving the 5 year old asleep and the key in the ignition.
Witnesses say two suspects walked up to the vehicle, got in and drove away.
Neighbors say the crime has left them on edge.
Brandi Hobson says, “It makes you nervous and especially because of the time they said it happened I was leaving to go to my boot camp class and you just think what if I could have been outside to have seen something.”
Detectives say surveillance video shows two people walking away from the car in an easterly direction after the car was parked at the truck stop.
The suspects reportedly told the little boy to stay in the vehicle and wait for his mother.
About an hour later the 5 year old is seen walking outside.
Toni Lutick says, “My husband saw this little boy come across the parking lot and the closer he got to my husband I saw he was crying and when he got to me he was sobbing hysterically.”
Toni Lutick says she was in the right place at the right time to help.
Lutick says, “My heart just dropped and I am so thankful and I will say this before and I will say it again... God puts you in places you need to be.”
Police say the boy was unharmed.
And that stolen car has been impounded and processed for evidence.
Detectives believe the suspects live near Bentfield drive or could have friends in the neighborhood.

Man facing extradition for murder claims innocence
June 17, 2013 20:24 GMT

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) -- A former U.S. Marine facing extradition to the Philippines on double murder charges says he is innocent.

Timothy Kaufman has been in jail since his arrest in April at business near his grandfather's Albany-area home. The 35-year-old from Knoxville, Tenn., is one of three men charged by Philippine authorities with killing a retired Northern Ireland police officer and his girlfriend in 2011.

Authorities claim it was a premeditated killing in an area known for its sometimes-seamy club scene.

In a handwritten letter sent to the media from jail, Kaufman says he would never do something as "heinous and stupid" as killing the couple. He says he left the country after the killings because he feared for his safety.

An extradition hearing is scheduled for June 25 in Albany federal court.
