Church leads with five nominations - including male vocalist of the year.
Coming in next with four nominations is Blake Shelton
The reining entertainer of the year is vying for the top spot again, as well as male vocalist of the year, single of the year and song of the year.
Shelton released a statement saying, "I never get tired of these 'oh-my-god-how-did-this-happen?!!' moments," "thank you to country radio and everyone who casts a cma vote. I am truly honored."
Blakes wife Miranda Lambert has four nominations as well.
She will also try holding on to her title of female vocalist of the year.
But she has some strong competition. On the ballot with her is Martina McBride, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift and Kelly Clarkson.
People took to twitter saying the pop singer doesn't deserve it.
Kelly tweeted her reaction - saying - "yesterday - the 10 year anniversary of me winning idol. Today -nominated in female vocalist category for the cma's! I promise to earn that!
Speaking of nominees not of the country genre - Snoop Dog is nominated for musical event of the year for his collaboration with Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson and Jamey Johnson.
Also in that category, The Civil Wars, were nominated for their collaboration with Taylor Swift for "Safe and Sound"
"The Civil Wars" are also nominated for "duo of the year".
And Kellie Pickler was not nominated for a cma this year - but she was creating just as much buzz.
The country singer and former idol star shaved her head for her best friend, who has breast cancer and starts chemo on Thursday.
Kellie took to twitter saying "It's been a great life changing day"

Tennessee sends search and rescue team to Oklahoma
May 21, 2013 16:19 GMT
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- A Tennessee-based team of emergency service workers has gone to Oklahoma to help with tornado recovery.
Memphis Fire Department spokesman Wayne Cooke said that Tennessee Task Force 1 left early Tuesday from Memphis.
Cooke says the 80-member team will mostly help with search and rescue efforts after powerful and deadly tornadoes struck cities in Oklahoma on Sunday and Monday. Emergency crews are digging through the rubble of destroyed structures to find trapped people.
The team is bringing search dogs and semi-trailers loaded with equipment to help dig through collapsed structures and perform other duties. Cooke says the team consists of emergency personnel from around Tennessee.
The task force was one of several teams that deployed to areas affected by Hurricane Sandy last October.
