A family of 9 is starting over again tonight after their home is destroyed by fire, but our TENNESSEE MORNINGS crew recovered a 4-legged family member who is completely priceless. Heavy smoke and fire fills the night air, leaving a family of 9 looking for a new home. 5 children between the ages of 2-12, along with 4 adults, were able to escape the house in Hermitage. They left their "Shoe" behind. The 18 month old lab/pit mix named shoe got lost in the confusion. They were forced to leave without him. FOX17 NEWS Photojournalist Josh Eldred and FOX17 NEWS Reporter Justin McFarland found him around 4:30am. He looked a little scared, but we kept an eye on him while waiting for his owners to return. Soon a restoration company arrived to help us dog sit and provide a little food. The family has insurance, but it will be at least 5 months before the house can be restored.

Miss. chooses new firm to run Woodville prison

WOODVILLE, Miss. (AP) -- Mississippi officials have picked a new company to run the Wilkinson County Correctional Facility.
Utah-based Management and Training Corp. announced Friday that the Mississippi Department of Corrections has chosen it to run the 1,000-bed prison starting July 1, the Natchez Democrat reports (http://bit.ly/10MvOGv).
Corrections Corporation of America, based in Nashville, Tenn., had run the prison since 1998. MTC says it will keep "the vast majority" of employees.
MTC will get a five-year contract to run the prison with two one-year options. Last year, officials chose MTC to take over East Mississippi Correctional Facility, the Walnut Grove Correctional Facility and the Marshall County Correctional Facility from the GEO Group. MTC won 10-year contracts for each.
CCA still runs the Tallahatchie County Correctional Facility and the Adams County Correctional Center in Mississippi.
