FOX 17 News welcomes back one of our own.
A week-and-a-half after she was shot during a robbery, reporter Erika Lathon returns to work.
The newsroom felt complete Monday afternoon seeing Erika Lathon back at her desk.
Not surprisingly she had plenty of cards sent from viewers and friends.
On the evening of Thursday, December 6th, Erika was getting money out of an ATM on Church Street.
An armed man, wearing a mask, shot her as he stole her money.
The bullet passed through her arm, and lodged in her chest.
"And it really didn't hit me I think mentally, emotionally until maybe Tuesday or into Wednesday that this really happened, that somebody tried to take my life," says Erika Lathon.
Erika still has her arm in a sling and says she's slowly getting better.
Meanwhile, Metro Police are still looking for the man who shot her.
"And I said I have $100 in cash and I threw it out the window," Lathon tells the detective.
Monday she met with detectives to review the bank's security video. Police are trying to track down leads.
"I want them to find the person but I guess I would be ok, or I have to live with it if they don't. So I just leave that part in God's hands," says Lathon.
Erika is glad to be back at work, but it's clear this experience has changed her.
She admits her sense of security and independence have been undermined.
"You know where as I'm a very controlled person, especially emotionally, that wall is sort of very fragile right now," says Lathon.
Many times Erika told us how thankful and blessed she feels.
We know the feeling. We're all thankful our colleague and friend survived.
"I just feel like God put his hand there and put the brakes on that bullet, just put the brakes on it and froze it right where it was," says Lathon.
WZTV FOX 17 is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person who shot Erika.
Crimestoppers is also offering a $1,000 reward.

Pharmacist admits misbranding dialysis drugs

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) -- A Tennessee pharmacist has admitted distributing a misbranded Chinese-made drug that was given to kidney dialysis patients in Kansas.
The U.S. Attorney's office says 53-year-old Robert Harshbarger Jr., of Kingsport, Tenn., pleaded guilty Tuesday in Topeka to one count each of distributing a misbranded drug and health care fraud.
Harshbarger admitted that from 2004 to 2009, he substituted a cheaper Chinese import for an iron sucrose drug approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
The drugs were given to patients of Kansas Dialysis Services. Prosecutors say there were no reports of harm, but patients were put at risk because the FDA could not assure the drugs' effectiveness and safety.
Harshbarger's plea deal calls for four years in prison, restitution of nearly $849,000 and a forfeiture of $425,000.
