The agency's San Juan, Puerto Rico, division told the South Florida Sun Sentinel (http://sunsent.nl/Uly7PZ) on Tuesday that it would look into the case.
Royal Caribbean says the Allure of the Seas was headed to Nassau, the Bahamas, when "a guest witnessed another guest going overboard" Sunday night. A surveillance camera also caught the woman's fall.
Two other nearby cruise ships initially joined the search for the woman.
The U.S. Coast Guard says the woman is from Bartlett, Tenn. No other information about her was immediately available.
Coast Guard crews were searching Tuesday by air and sea.
The Allure of the Seas skipped its stop in Nassau because of the search. It is due Wednesday in Philipsburg, St. Maarten.

Rebar finishing will add 40 jobs in Knox County
May 21, 2013 11:13 GMT
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Another 40 jobs are coming to Knox County as Gerdau (gair-DOW') expands its steel reinforcement bar plant.
The Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development says the new facility will apply finishing services to rebar now made at the company's Lonsdale mill.
TDEC Commissioner Bill Hagerty and Gerdau officials announced the expansion on Monday, saying the plant will have the capacity to finish about 120,000 tons of steel per year.
Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett said it was good to see a vacant building in the WestBridge Business Park be put back into industrial use.
