WBFF Fox 45 :: Harlem Globetrotter Visits Nashville School to Talk about Bullying
You can hear "Sweet Georgia Brown" in your head right now. The Harlem Globetrotters are in Nashville and our Sports Director Paul Jones catches up with one of the hoops entertainers tonight. The Harlem Globetrotters have brought smiles to faces for over 8 years. Along the way, they've become Goodwill Ambassadors as they travel the world with their unique and entertaining brand of basketball. Today's message to some of their youngest fans had nothing to do with hoops. Anthony "Buckets" Blakes taking time out of his busy schedule to talk to kids at Cumberland Elementary about bullying. "Buckets" knows a thing or 2 about the subject, having been picked on when he was a child. Now a Globetrotter, he can do all sorts of cool tricks with a basketball. Pretty fancy! He also wants to use this platform to pass along an important message to youngsters!

"I think we have a little bit more of an influence on those kids," says Blakes. "Why not give them a positive message? Some ingredients to take with them in life, in case they come across any obstacles. I've got a job where I make people smile and laugh, and give back at the same time. You know, best job in the world. I wouldn't trade it."

The Globetrotters visit over 300 schools every year as part of the ABC's of Bullying Prevention Program. You can see "Buckets" and the rest of the Trotters on the court this Sunday at Municipal Auditorium. The show starts at 2pm.
