WBFF Fox 45 :: Head-On Crash Leaves Midstate Family in Mourning
ROBERTSON COUNTY, Tenn. - A 3 year old girl clings to life. Those close to her family say only a miracle will save her. She's a victim of a fatal head-on collision in Robertson County Monday night, and her family and friends are praying for an act of God. The Bogue family is known to be strong in their faith. They're asking for prayer, not just for them, but for the family of the driver who is believed to have caused the crash. He's one of 2 people killed in the crash last night. We're told the prognosis for little Wyncie is terminal as well.

"Wyncie is the most beautiful, delightful young lady you'd ever want to meet," says Bethel Baptist Church Senior Pastor Dr. Alec Cort.

3 years old, a charming brunette, Wyncie Bouge clings to life at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital, as her mother Megan undergoes surgery. According to Springfield Police, Megan was driving her mother and 2 children, 3 year old Wyncie and 2 week old Emmett, home from dinner, when another driver, Mandricus Darden, crossed the 5-lane highway and crashed into them head-on. It all happened around 7:30pm on Highway 41 where Springfield meets Greenbrier. Megan's husband Brandon had just returned to work from paternity leave.

"The question why," says Cort. "Why her? Why now? Why such a young beautiful family, and such a family who is strong in their faith? As a pastor, I don't have an answer to the question of why?"

Dr. Cort is among the church family rallying around the Bouge's. Megan's mother died shortly after the crash. Megan has undergone surgery for a torn diaphragm and 2 broken legs. Her 2 week old baby, Emmett, has non-life-threatening injuries. Mr. Bogue is said to have maintained his faith through it all.

"He has been a source of strength and a wonderful encouragement for us all," says Dr. Cort.

Dr. Cort says their faith community is trusting that this tragedy will turn to triumph, regardless of Wyncie's chance of survival.

"We are praying for a miracle for little Wyncie," says Dr. Cort. "Doctors have told us her mortality rate is 100%. She is not expected to survive. In times like that, all you can do is ask God for a miracle."

Brandon and Megan Bouge will likely be out of work for quite some time as their family recovers. Friends have created a fund to help with medical and living expenses. You can donate at any Regions Bank during normal business hours to the "Bogue Family Assistance Fund".

Former Dyer County constable sentenced to prison
May 23, 2013 12:50 GMT

DYERSBURG, Tenn. (AP) -- Former Dyer County Constable Derick Shane Hundley has been sentenced to 25 years in federal prison.

The State Gazette (http://bit.ly/14UHydd ) reported Hundley was sentenced Monday after earlier entering a guilty plea to enticement of a minor through electronic means. The government dropped a child pornography count.

Prosecutors said Hundley, who is 30, used a cellphone to try to entice a minor female to have sex with him. Police arrested Hundley last July and found an external hard drive that contained numerous images of minors involved in sex. He resigned from the constable post he had won in 2010 after his arrest.
