WBFF Fox 45 :: Hollywood Week Provides Some Crazy Moments on
LOS ANGELES, California - Auditions are over and we have entered Hollywood Week. As they do every year, "Idol" changed things up for Season 12.

First major change: it's guys against guys. As Ryan said on the show, they are separating the men from the boys! Normally, Hollywood Week is a mix of all, but this week it's all guys, then all girls next week.

No more running around begging to join a group. The "Idol" producers decided who they wanted to see grouped together. Some people seemed to really like the concept. Others didn't like not having a choice, but it certainly made for some interesting performances.

There were well over a dozen groups featured Wednesday night. For one particular group, they grouped all the youngest contestants, including Kayden Stephenson, who had many of us crying at his audition. Kayden has cystic fibrosis and has a much shorter life expectancy than other kids his age, only given until about 35. Sadly, Kayden forgot some words, sang a little off key, and did not make it on to Hollywood, but says he will be back next year.

It seemed forgetting the words was the theme with almost every group Wednesday night. Pretty much every group forgot either some or almost all the lyrics. We bet Simon is watching at home cringing, but the judges were pretty forgiving, letting people through despite forgetting the words. Nicki Minaj pointed out she was basing a lot of her decisions on how they handled themselves under that kind of pressure.

"Idol" Hollywood Week continues Thursday night on FOX17. The guys will have to do solo performances. To keep up with all the latest "Idol" news, make sure and find Stacy McCloud and follow her on Twitter @StacyMccloud

Haslam's chief deputy Claude Ramsey to retire
June 19, 2013 16:41 GMT

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Gov. Bill Haslam says chief deputy Claude Ramsey is retiring at the end of August to spend more time with his family in Chattanooga.

The Republican governor said in a news release on Wednesday that the 70-year-old Ramsey has been integral to his administration on key initiatives that include civil service reform, economic development efforts, workforce development training and improved operation of state government.

Ramsey was elected to the General Assembly in 1972 where he served four years in the House. He was Hamilton County's mayor for 16 years.

His last day on the job is August 31.
