Fire investigators in Goodlettsville say 84 year old Richard "Dicky" Hilton was killed early Friday morning in a house fire on Draper Drive.
Hilton was found on his bedroom floor by firefighters who entered the home during the blaze. Investigators believe the man was trying to get out when he was overcome by smoke.
The cause of the fire is undetermined, but investigators cannot rule out an electrical problem. The fire appears to have started in the home's sun room.
Hilton's family members say he recently lost his wife, Nancy, last year.
"Love of each other's lives. She was always just beautiful to him in every way," says Hilton's daughter Nancy Wilson.
The couple had been married for 60 years. Richard Hilton had been by his wife's bedside until her death last August.
"He's with my mom and that's where he wanted to be. He missed her so bad after she passed away, so he's with her, and that's the only thing that gets me through is knowing they're together," says Nancy Wilson.
Richard Hilton served in the Air Force and owned a sheet metal business in Nashville. Services will be arranged by Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Goodlettsville.

Miss. chooses new firm to run Woodville prison
May 18, 2013 20:50 GMT
WOODVILLE, Miss. (AP) -- Mississippi officials have picked a new company to run the Wilkinson County Correctional Facility.
Utah-based Management and Training Corp. announced Friday that the Mississippi Department of Corrections has chosen it to run the 1,000-bed prison starting July 1, the Natchez Democrat reports (http://bit.ly/10MvOGv).
Corrections Corporation of America, based in Nashville, Tenn., had run the prison since 1998. MTC says it will keep "the vast majority" of employees.
MTC will get a five-year contract to run the prison with two one-year options. Last year, officials chose MTC to take over East Mississippi Correctional Facility, the Walnut Grove Correctional Facility and the Marshall County Correctional Facility from the GEO Group. MTC won 10-year contracts for each.
CCA still runs the Tallahatchie County Correctional Facility and the Adams County Correctional Center in Mississippi.
