With winter weather in the forecast, some of you spent the day stocking up on supplies. We went to the Kroger on McGavock Pike where families have been stocking up on the essentials most of the day. Employees tell us they've seen the usual items fly off the shelves. Families have been picking up bread, milk, cereal and canned goods, but also batteries, flashlights and firewood. No matter what they came to buy, many shoppers say the weather has really put a dent in their plans.
"It's busy," says Kroger shopper Lane Cronan. "There's a lot of people here."
"We actually got out of work a couple hours early because we were told it's going to be a really bad ice storm tonight, so I'm going to try to head home right now and get in before it starts getting bad," says Kroger shopper Erin Hughes.
"I came out of my back porch and took a slip and slide style fall down the stairs," says Kroger shopper Justin. "Luckily, it was just slick enough that I think it didn't hurt me too bad."
NES also says many elderly, sick or disabled people depend on electricity, and urge families to check on neighbors in need if there is an outage in your area. We'll have more essential winter weather coverage later on TENNESSEE MORNINGS.

Body found in Percy Priest Lake

SMYRNA, Tenn. (AP) -- Authorities say a body has been found in Percy Priest Lake in Middle Tennessee.
WSMV-TV (http://bit.ly/16gYKys) reports officials with Metro Police, the Office of Emergency Management and Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency were at the scene Saturday at Hole In The Wall Island. The body was reported to authorities about 11 a.m.
TWRA officials say they believe the deceased man is a boater who disappeared in the lake two weeks ago.
Police said the agencies coordinated with each other to get a boat in the water and recover the body.
