"It's not true, it's not true and I can't wait to be proven, cause it's not true and it's really hurting my heart to see this," says parent Tiffany Jones.
Despite the charges, parents continued to bring their children to the academy and they stand behind the Robinsons, especially Demetria.
"We worked at a daycare together and she has took care of all 3 of my kids before and nobody has ever said anything bad about her," says Jones. "Ever.'
"I live right near her and I see her out there interacting with the children and I've never seen anything that leads me to believe that she's doing anything to harm anyone's children," says neighbor Carolyn Broyles.
Neighbors claim the couple just had a baby and had run the academy for the last 4 years. They believe someone is out to ruin the Robinsons' name.
"I don't have no idea, but it's wrong," says Jones. "That they are hurting this family like that."
Demetria Robinson faces a $150,000 bond. Rodney Robinson has a $250,000 bond. Both will head to court on October 3. The girls are now staying with relatives. Houston brother will be his own attorney in court
June 18, 2013 13:02 GMT
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- A Roane County man will face federal gun violation charges next month without an attorney.
The Knoxville News Sentinel (http://bit.ly/17VlXpM ) reported Rocky Joe Houston will represent himself on a charge of possession of a gun by a felon.
The charge came after Houston earlier represented himself in state court on charges stemming from a police chase. He was convicted of evading arrest and reckless endangerment.
Houston and his brother, Leon Houston, were tried, but not convicted, in the 2006 shooting deaths of a Roane County deputy and his ride-along companion.
In federal court, Rocky Joe Houston is claiming the officer who charged him with the felony had no legal authority.
