WBFF Fox 45 :: Love Of Monsters Transforms Into Business
Few costumes attract the attention Rick Prince does when he's wearing his custom made Autobot "Prowl."

The makers of a Transformers video game hired Prince to build it last year.

"As soon as I saw monsters I wanted to be one," said Prince.  "As soon as I saw that shape that wasn't human I had to be that."

Prince has been an avid costume fan since he was a kid and he's been making them since 1994 but putting together a real life Transformer was something on a new scale.

That's why Prince teamed up with Bobby Ballard and other friends to start their own costume company called Malice in Mind.

Prowl was the first of many creations.

"The first time I got to see him at NY Comic Con it still gives me cold chills thinking about it," said Ballard.

In the months since, the team has made a monster for a movie and this Halloween they've put together their own line of masks and skin accessories.

They also make costumes on demand at their shop on Alabama Avenue near White Bridge Road.

2 appellate court judges are stepping down
May 24, 2013 21:29 GMT

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Two Tennessee appellate court judges have notified Gov. Bill Haslam that they will not run for another term on the bench in the August 2014 retention election.

Patricia J. Cottrell, a judge on the Court of Appeals, and Joseph M. Tipton, who sits on the Court of Criminal Appeals bench, will both leave after September of next year.

The announcements come after the state legislature left Tennessee without a way to replace judges who step down or die when a commission expires at the end of next month.

Members of the soon-to-be-defunct Judicial Nominating Commission will make recommendations for replacements to give to Haslam before the panel expires. Haslam will appoint the replacements from those recommendations.
