WBFF Fox 45 :: Man Arrested After Viewing Child Porn at Nashville Library - Sky Arnold
One of the most popular sections of the downtown Metro Library doesn't carry any books.

"I try to get in here 3 to 4 days a week," said James Walker. "The computer is helpful and I'm glad the library has them."

People like Walker depend on computer labs to search for jobs.

Others use the free service for social media and that's where the trouble occurred Thursday.

Police Lt. Michael Dudley says a local homeless man used the library computer to download a video of child pornography.

Jeffrey Rahn, 51, now faces a charge of sexual exploitation of a minor.

"Not  only did they have people around walking by, children included can see. This is disturbing," said Dudley.

The library does have safeguards to prevent porn downloads but Renuka Christoph says there are limits to those safeguards.

"It does not prevent those who have brought in a renewable device such as USB or if they're on their email and look to a site that way," said Christoph.

In this case, Christoph says Rahn circumvented the safeguards by accessing the video through social media but what he didn't know is the library's system can also flag inappropriate material.

"We knew he was accessing something that was inappropriate and we got personnel that closely monitor the area and so we were able to find it," said Christoph.

Rahn is being held on $10,000 bond.Man Arrested After Viewing Child Porn at Nashville Library - Sky Arnold

Miss. chooses new firm to run Woodville prison
May 18, 2013 20:50 GMT

WOODVILLE, Miss. (AP) -- Mississippi officials have picked a new company to run the Wilkinson County Correctional Facility.

Utah-based Management and Training Corp. announced Friday that the Mississippi Department of Corrections has chosen it to run the 1,000-bed prison starting July 1, the Natchez Democrat reports (http://bit.ly/10MvOGv).

Corrections Corporation of America, based in Nashville, Tenn., had run the prison since 1998. MTC says it will keep "the vast majority" of employees.

MTC will get a five-year contract to run the prison with two one-year options. Last year, officials chose MTC to take over East Mississippi Correctional Facility, the Walnut Grove Correctional Facility and the Marshall County Correctional Facility from the GEO Group. MTC won 10-year contracts for each.

CCA still runs the Tallahatchie County Correctional Facility and the Adams County Correctional Center in Mississippi.
