WBFF Fox 45 :: Man Shot for Not Helping Out Around Apartment
A Clarksville man was shot by his girlfriend's son for not helping around the house.
Anthony Rhodes, 42, was shot in the neck inside an apartment at the 2100 block of Memorial Drive at about 9 p.m. on Monday, according to Clarksville Police. Rhodes was transported to Gateway. He has since been treated and released.
Detectives determine, based on witness accounts, that Rhodes got into a verbal altercation which turned physical with Henry "Bobo" Shannon, 22, of Clarksville, for not helping around the apartment. Witnesses heard the gunshot and saw Shannon holding a gun.
Additionally, there was a two year old child inside of the residence when the shooting took place.
Shannon fled the scene prior to officers arrival.
A warrant has been issued for Shannon for aggravated assault. He should be considered armed and dangerous.

2 appellate court judges are stepping down
May 24, 2013 21:29 GMT

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Two Tennessee appellate court judges have notified Gov. Bill Haslam that they will not run for another term on the bench in the August 2014 retention election.

Patricia J. Cottrell, a judge on the Court of Appeals, and Joseph M. Tipton, who sits on the Court of Criminal Appeals bench, will both leave after September of next year.

The announcements come after the state legislature left Tennessee without a way to replace judges who step down or die when a commission expires at the end of next month.

Members of the soon-to-be-defunct Judicial Nominating Commission will make recommendations for replacements to give to Haslam before the panel expires. Haslam will appoint the replacements from those recommendations.
