"This is home for us," says HCA CEO Richard Bracken. "We don't want to go anywhere else, we've never wanted to go anywhere else."
With that, a $200 million decision was made. Plans to morph an abandoned construction site into 2 corporate tower headquarters, housing both Parallon Business Solutions and the Sarah Cannon Research Institute.
"When you think about how that site is going to be transformed with development all around it, it's going to be an incredible win for the city of Nashville," says Mayor Karl Dean.
Thursday's announcement is already revving up HCA's expansion to be a huge economic engine for the city, with 1000 new high-paying jobs and almost 1000 more transferring from Williamson County and other Nashville offices.
"The truth is, all jobs are not created equal," says Governor Bill Haslam. "These are jobs that are gonna average near 6 figures and jobs any city and state would want."
Those jobs reportedly pay anywhere between $85,000-$90,000 a year with benefits including annual employee stipends. HCA is still negotiating the property lease agreement, which will likely be presented to City Council for final approval some time after November.
