Goodlettsville police received a tip around 10:30 last night about a possible meth lab at the Piccadilly Apartments. When officers arrived at 539 Windsor Green Boulevard they could see what appeared to be an individual in the apartment making methamphetamine. Police backed away to avoid exposure and called in S.W.A.T and the Tennessee Methamphetamine Task Force. Five individuals were questioned during the bust. Only three were arrested and taken to Metro jail. All three suspects were charged with multiple counts of manufacturing methamphetamine. Police say two of the individuals lived at the apartment where the incident took place. The scene was active until 9:00 this morning and the investigation is ongoing. The apartment has been quarantined and will be closed off until contractors can decontaminate it.

Vanderbilt poll: Tennesseans oppose online tax

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- A new Vanderbilt University poll finds a majority of Tennesseans oppose the state enforcing online sales taxes, though respondents were split on whether the current system is fair to local businesses.
Fifty-five percent said that taxing online sales is a bad idea, while 38 percent said it would be good policy.
The U.S. Senate earlier this month passed a bill to empower states to collect sales taxes from Internet purchases, but the measure faces a tough sell in the House. The change is supported by Gov. Bill Haslam and fellow Republican U.S. Sens. Lamar Alexander and Bob Corker.
But Haslam enjoys a 63 percent approval rating among the 813 registered voters surveyed in the poll, which has a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points.
