"I've had three sets of twins, four sets of twins, maybe five at the most at the other schools I've worked at but never, never anywhere close to this," said Steve Robbins, principal.
Smith County High has 12. There are six sets in the freshman class alone.
The CDC says in the late 90s when those freshmen were born, just more than 2% of all newborns were twins, but in the Owls' freshman class of only 150 students the rate is about 8%.
"Those research specialists would have to come out here and do some sort of study," Robbins said. "I can't explain it but I do know that it makes the day pretty neat and unique when you see so many of them walking the halls."
Identical twins Tierra and Tiamera Sadler share a unique bond.
"Even when we get sick we can feel the other one's sick," Tierra said.
Seniors Taylor and Zac Carter are the third generation of twins in their family.
"My dad's mom's a twin, my dad's a twin and we're twins," Zac said.
They say no matter how many twins are around in the hallways of Smith County High, they can always count on each other.
"You always know he's got your back," Zac said. "No matter what, the other one will be there for you," Taylor said.
The CDC says twin birth rates have skyrocketed in recent years. Today, one in 30 infants born is a twin.

Miss. chooses new firm to run Woodville prison
May 18, 2013 20:50 GMT
WOODVILLE, Miss. (AP) -- Mississippi officials have picked a new company to run the Wilkinson County Correctional Facility.
Utah-based Management and Training Corp. announced Friday that the Mississippi Department of Corrections has chosen it to run the 1,000-bed prison starting July 1, the Natchez Democrat reports (http://bit.ly/10MvOGv).
Corrections Corporation of America, based in Nashville, Tenn., had run the prison since 1998. MTC says it will keep "the vast majority" of employees.
MTC will get a five-year contract to run the prison with two one-year options. Last year, officials chose MTC to take over East Mississippi Correctional Facility, the Walnut Grove Correctional Facility and the Marshall County Correctional Facility from the GEO Group. MTC won 10-year contracts for each.
CCA still runs the Tallahatchie County Correctional Facility and the Adams County Correctional Center in Mississippi.
