WBFF Fox 45 :: Midstate Park Let's You
If you've ever wanted to fend off a horde of marauding undead then the zombie paintball hayride at Millers Thrillers in Spring Hill is the place for you.

"There's been a zombie outbreak, an infestation and we've quarantined them but it's up to you to come out and kill them til they're dead," said Beardsley Grimbeard, the costumed host of Millers Thrillers.

The brand new zombie shoot  'em up ride is the most popular attraction at the 30-acre park.

"It's really cool, you jump on a hay ride and on the sides of the trailer are paintball guns and as zombies come at you, you shoot them in the face, which is great," Beardsley said.

And if you're worried about hurting the zombies, don't be.  Organizers say they're fully protected.

" It s not dangerous at all, Beardsley said.  "We do a really good job of making sure everyone is padded up, in masks and all that stuff."

If shooting zombies isn't your idea of family fun, there's still plenty to do at Millers Thrillers.

"The middle area is a real fun entertainment where you can get some hot chocolate and hang out by the bonfire and just spend the whole night here," Beardsley said.

It also features a drum line of the undead or you can test your bravery...

"At the haunted woods attraction where we stop looking for you at midnight and then we ll come looking for you in the morning," Beardsley said.

But Eli Chesnut, who celebrated his 9th birthday at the park said he clearly had a favorite part.

"Shooting zombies with paintballs," Chesnut said.  "I mean seriously!"

If you want to shoot some zombies yourself, Sunday is your last chance.  The Millers Thrillers park is open from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.Midstate Park Let's You "Shoot" "Zombies" - Eric Alvarez

Tishomingo County voters OK beer, alcohol sales
May 22, 2013 23:38 GMT

IUKA, Miss. (AP) -- Tishomingo County is the latest Mississippi jurisdiction to legalize alcohol sales.

Voters approved the sale of liquor, wine and beer Tuesday, reports the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal (http://bit.ly/13JCcix).

It wasn't clear referendums would pass until affidavit ballots were counted Wednesday.

With more than half Tishomingo County's voters casting ballots, legalizing alcohol passed by 42 votes, while legalizing beer and light wine passed by 73. The county borders Alabama and Tennessee.

Lawmakers legalized liquor at a proposed resort at the county's Bay Springs Lake in 2010, but it wasn't built.

Greene County voters legalized beer sales last year, while Corinth, New Albany and Senatobia have legalized alcohol sales under a 2012 law that allows cities to hold votes.

Mississippi has 13 remaining counties that allow no beer or alcohol sales.
