Even before the fire calls, Nashville District Fire Chief Ricky Taylor says they were busy with power outages due to high winds. Then four different fire calls throughout the night around Nashville kept the firefighters blood circulating.
Two calls came out at 11 p.m. One at a house at 3325 Panorama Drive in Bordeaux that had light smoke and was quickly contained, but a fire at 717 Lischey Ave. in east Nashville occurred in an unoccupied home.
The fire started in the living room, and was contained there. Taylor says an investigator will come out tomorrow to determine a cause.
Firefighters were also called to the Grandview Apartments in west Nashville after midnight, which turned out to be minor.
A house at 4520 Winston Drive in north Nashville suffered extensive damage after a fire started in the den and spread into the wall. Firefighters had to open up the wall on two floors, but were able to contain the fire in about 10 minutes. The rest of the house suffered smoke and water damage. The residents are staying elsewhere for the night.
Taylor said their smoke detectors went off and "that's a good thing."
No one was injured in any of the fires.

Tishomingo County voters OK beer, alcohol sales
May 22, 2013 23:38 GMT
IUKA, Miss. (AP) -- Tishomingo County is the latest Mississippi jurisdiction to legalize alcohol sales.
Voters approved the sale of liquor, wine and beer Tuesday, reports the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal (http://bit.ly/13JCcix).
It wasn't clear referendums would pass until affidavit ballots were counted Wednesday.
With more than half Tishomingo County's voters casting ballots, legalizing alcohol passed by 42 votes, while legalizing beer and light wine passed by 73. The county borders Alabama and Tennessee.
Lawmakers legalized liquor at a proposed resort at the county's Bay Springs Lake in 2010, but it wasn't built.
Greene County voters legalized beer sales last year, while Corinth, New Albany and Senatobia have legalized alcohol sales under a 2012 law that allows cities to hold votes.
Mississippi has 13 remaining counties that allow no beer or alcohol sales.
