UPDATE:  Clarksville
Police now tell us Malcolm Wright, 21, was fatally shot at C-Rays Social Club
early Saturday morning. Police spokesman Jim Knoll says detectives are continuing
to interview people who were inside the club as they search for information
about the events that lead to the shooting.

Clarksville Police were called to the scene of a shooting
early this morning. Police responded to a shooting in progress at C-Ray’s
Social Club on Fort Campbell Boulevard. Officers said when they arrived on
scene things were very chaotic as club goers rapidly exited the building.
Officials found a 20 year old male with gunshot wounds laying on a wood ramp
around the back of the business. The victim is said to be non-military but was
transported to Blanchfield Army Community Hospital where he later died.

Officers from the scene say they received very little information from the

Updated conservatorship statute effective July 1
May 21, 2013 12:49 GMT

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Gov. Bill Haslam has signed into law revisions to the state conservatorship statute.

The law allows the court to appoint a conservator to manage the assets of a person a judge finds unable to handle his or her own affairs.

State Rep. Andrew Farmer, a Sevierville Republican, told The Tennessean (http://tnne.ws/1183hjy ) the intent of the bill he sponsored in the House is to make sure people aren't being taken advantage of.

The bill sprang from a series of hearings statewide by the Tennessee Bar Association. They revealed there were no uniform procedures for placing a person's assets under a conservator on an emergency basis.

The changes take effect July 1.
