WBFF Fox 45 :: One To Watch: Jaida Dreyer Holds Album Release Party During CRS
NASHVILLE, TN - - CRS is in Nashville this week, which means there is a showcase around every corner. Fox 17 Entertainment Reporter Stacy McCloud went to the Downtown Nashville venue SEEN. to see what the buzz surrounding this girl is all about.

If the twang in Jaida Dreyers voice reminds  you of anyone, the young singer hears one comparison an awful lot. "I get Dolly a lot which is great because i am a huge Dolly fan" says Dreyer.

When Jaida came to Nashville six years ago, she never imagined she would be singing at her own album release party. "I wasn't a rich girl with daddy's money that just moved here to be a star. I did'nt sound like Taylor or Carrie, so I figured my place was as a songwriter" she says.

Songwriting is where she wants to be, after all she'd been writing songs since she was a young child. "I would write these crazy stories. So much that my teacher would call my mom and be like is Jaida is okay" she laughs.

Those stories turned to poems and those poems into songs. Now she's written well over 500. Ten made the album, including one she co-wrote with Sugarlands Kristian Bush, who sings on the track with her.
That's not the only well known name associated with her debut.
Grammy award winning producer Byron Gallimore is also part of her team. "He produces Tim, Faith, Sugarland, Martina - so I'm his baby artist" she laughs.

This isn't Jaida's first rodeo so to speak. She showed horses profesionally starting at the age of  5 and lived in 7 states by the time she was 17 - which gave her a lot to write about.
The most personal song is her single and name of the album - Half Broke Horses. "I would say it's a cowboy and horse song but more than that it's about my relationship with  my estranged father" says Jaida.

Jaida has already toured with a listers like Dierks Bentley, Luke Bryan and Eric Church. but says with the release of her debut album, she hopes the best is yet to come.

Miss. chooses new firm to run Woodville prison
May 18, 2013 20:50 GMT

WOODVILLE, Miss. (AP) -- Mississippi officials have picked a new company to run the Wilkinson County Correctional Facility.

Utah-based Management and Training Corp. announced Friday that the Mississippi Department of Corrections has chosen it to run the 1,000-bed prison starting July 1, the Natchez Democrat reports (http://bit.ly/10MvOGv).

Corrections Corporation of America, based in Nashville, Tenn., had run the prison since 1998. MTC says it will keep "the vast majority" of employees.

MTC will get a five-year contract to run the prison with two one-year options. Last year, officials chose MTC to take over East Mississippi Correctional Facility, the Walnut Grove Correctional Facility and the Marshall County Correctional Facility from the GEO Group. MTC won 10-year contracts for each.

CCA still runs the Tallahatchie County Correctional Facility and the Adams County Correctional Center in Mississippi.
