We are learning more about a man who gave his life to help a stranger shot during a Halloween party in Clarksville.

When gun shots rang out just before 2 Saturday morning... Hundreds of people attending a Halloween party ran… But there was one who didn't.... 21 year old Jason Rose... The son of Bobby and Cindy rose.
Cindy says, “The first child was shot- Jason didn't even know this person and was going to protect him going to take care of him and then that is when they turned the gun on him and shot Jason.”
Police say during the party a fight broke out between 20 year old Jecarvin Brown and 18 year old Shakar Drones.
Police believe Drones pulled out a gun and shot brown- Jason Rose ran to help and was also shot.
Even in this painful time the family of Jason Rose say they find comfort knowing his last actions were helping someone else.
Bobby says, “To know that he thought of somebody else before himself know that our values came out in him and it makes me very proud of him and like I said he will always be my hero.”
Jason's parents say his twin Jeffery was at the party and was the last one to see his brother alive.
Cindy says, “Jeffery they said your brother is the one that was shot Jeffery runs out there to his brother - he held his hand until the last breath - he said he held his hand.”
Cindy says while she has forgiven his killer.... He will never know who he took from this world...
Cindy says, “He did take my child and I will never never never get to see my child again.”
His parents describe Jason as a lovable guy who could light up any room he walked into.
Cindy says, “Just knowing that he can't come back through that door and all of his hugs and kisses and loving - you know he is going to be missed by alot alot alot of people.”
They hope their son's death will not be in vain...
Both parents say, “I just hope a lot of those young people there will learn a lesson from the violence that happened and that guns is not the answer.”
Drones has been charged with two counts of criminal homicide.
Drones is being held on two million dollars bond.
Four other suspects were charged with being accessories after the fact in the criminal homicide.

Houston brother will be his own attorney in court
June 18, 2013 13:02 GMT

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- A Roane County man will face federal gun violation charges next month without an attorney.

The Knoxville News Sentinel (http://bit.ly/17VlXpM ) reported Rocky Joe Houston will represent himself on a charge of possession of a gun by a felon.

The charge came after Houston earlier represented himself in state court on charges stemming from a police chase. He was convicted of evading arrest and reckless endangerment.

Houston and his brother, Leon Houston, were tried, but not convicted, in the 2006 shooting deaths of a Roane County deputy and his ride-along companion.

In federal court, Rocky Joe Houston is claiming the officer who charged him with the felony had no legal authority.
