WBFF Fox 45 :: Police Expected to File 3 Murder Warrants at Any Time
At any time, police are expected to file 3 murder warrants against a Bellevue man accused of murdering 3 of his neighbors. Investigators were inside a home on Beech Bend Drive all day yesterday. They found the bodies of 48 year old Michelle Pinowski, her 14 year old son Jonathan Culpepper and her mother, 71 year old Marylea Jordan. Police believe neighbor Craig Garber stabbed the family to death around 3am and then tried to kill himself. Garber has a history of emotional problems. A 9 year old girl was able to escape the home and run to a neighbor's. Craig Garber is in critical condition at Vanderbilt Medical Center, and will be charged with Criminal Homicide. 14 year old Jonathan Culpepper just began his freshman year at Hillwood High School this year. Metro School leaders released a statement saying the faculty and staff are deeply saddened by this tragedy. Counselors will be available when school resumes Tuesday.Police Expected to File 3 Murder Warrants at Any Time

2 appellate court judges are stepping down
May 24, 2013 21:29 GMT

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Two Tennessee appellate court judges have notified Gov. Bill Haslam that they will not run for another term on the bench in the August 2014 retention election.

Patricia J. Cottrell, a judge on the Court of Appeals, and Joseph M. Tipton, who sits on the Court of Criminal Appeals bench, will both leave after September of next year.

The announcements come after the state legislature left Tennessee without a way to replace judges who step down or die when a commission expires at the end of next month.

Members of the soon-to-be-defunct Judicial Nominating Commission will make recommendations for replacements to give to Haslam before the panel expires. Haslam will appoint the replacements from those recommendations.
