WBFF Fox 45 :: Police: Parents Arrested for Making Meth in Front of Child
Two Hermitage residents are now in custody on methamphetamine, weapon and child neglect charges.

Friday night Metro Police responded to tip on the 400 block Mona Drive in Hermitage, Phillip Mason, 28, and Emily Mashburn, 23, are suspected of making meth inside their home in the presence of their three year old daughter, according to a statement from police.

During the execution of a search warrant Hermitage Precinct officers and the Specialized Investigations Division meth experts located acid gas generators, cooking vessels, sulfuric acid, Coleman fuel, ammonium nitrate and empty packages of medicine that contained pseudoephedrine, all item used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine. Also in the home was an SKS assault rifle and ammunition.

Both Mason and Mashburn are charged with initiating the process to manufacture meth, child endangerment, unlawful possession of a weapon in the commission of a dangerous felony and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. Mason and Mashburn are jailed on $50,000 bond.

Their three year old daughter is now in the care of relatives.

Police are looking for a third person in the case as well. According to investigators Drew Mena, 36, also lives in the home but was not present at the time of the earlier arrest. Ky. veteran killed in Afghanistan blast

FORT THOMAS, Ky. (AP) -- A Kentucky veteran who was working as a civilian contractor in Afghanistan has died in an explosion in Kabul that killed at least 15 people including six Americans.

The father of 26-year-old Michael Robert Bradford of Fort Thomas said his son was smart, good in different sports and about to become a father.

Gary "Moose" Bradford, also of Fort Thomas, told The Kentucky Enquirer (http://bit.ly/12i0nVO ) he found about his son's death from Michael Bradford's wife, Sasha, on Thursday afternoon. He said he was in total disbelief.

The couple's first child is due in a few weeks.

Two American soldiers were killed along with four American civilian contractors with DynCorp International, based in Falls Church, Va.

Other survivors include his mother, Linda Bradford of Johnson City, Tenn.
