GALLATIN, Tenn. - Evidence form Lindsey Lowe's phone may play a big role in her first degree murder trial in Sumner County. Prosecutors say the mother who's charged with smothering her newborns shortly after giving birth Googled how to make herself go into labor. That contradicts Lowe's main defense: she didn't realize she was pregnant. Dr. William Kenner spent over 13 hours talking to Lindsey Lowe. He says it was enough time to make this diagnosis about why she hid her pregnancy.
"Remember she's carrying those 2 babies vertically in her abdomen so that nobody sees she's pregnant," says Dr. Kenner.
Kenner calls the condition pregnancy denial and it's a key part of Lowe's defense that she couldn't have premeditated the murder of her newborn sons. District Attorney Ray Whitley isn't buying any of it. Whitley says Lowe performed several internet searches for pregnancy topics just days before giving birth to the twins she's accused of smothering. Lowe's defense wanted this information hidden, and even suggested it could be reason for a mistrial. Judge Dee David Gay disagreed, ruling Lowe's Googling history is something jurors can consider. The trial wrapped up early Friday but it will continue Monday morning. There's no definitive word yet if Lowe will take the stand in her own defense. Lowe faces 2 counts of first degree murder plus child abuse charges in the 2011 murder. TONIGHT on FOX17 NEWS, we'll hear from another psychologist about why she thinks Lowe thought about suicide.

Former Dyer County constable sentenced to prison

DYERSBURG, Tenn. (AP) -- Former Dyer County Constable Derick Shane Hundley has been sentenced to 25 years in federal prison.
The State Gazette (http://bit.ly/14UHydd ) reported Hundley was sentenced Monday after earlier entering a guilty plea to enticement of a minor through electronic means. The government dropped a child pornography count.
Prosecutors said Hundley, who is 30, used a cellphone to try to entice a minor female to have sex with him. Police arrested Hundley last July and found an external hard drive that contained numerous images of minors involved in sex. He resigned from the constable post he had won in 2010 after his arrest.
