"I'm definitely afraid to make the leap but nothing worth doing isn't scary" says Potter.
From Broadway New York City, to Broadway Music City, Rachel is trying to start over in a genre that's had her heart since she was a child.
"I used to design album covers when younger. Loved Faith Hill and Martina McBride and watched cmt in my bedroom" she remembers.
But after college, Rachel was bit by the theater bug.
"When I graduated I needed a job, so i auditioned at Disney. I was The Little Mermaid, Finding Nemo, Belle in Beauty and the Beast" she says.
Her Broadway career took off. She starred in hit musicals such as The Addams Family, Wicked and most recently Evita.
But in her free time, Rachel was writing and recording, preparing for her country debut.
Rachel released this six song EP, which features her single "Live The Dream", which is being played on www.cmt.com
"It was originally written about Broadway and The Ryman and the writer changed it to relate more to my story" says Rachel.
Rachel says she knows the transition isn't going to be easy, "You are begging people to come to your gig where as on Broadway they just show up and you don't have to do work".
But with her Broadway fans behind her and country fans starting to notice her pop country voice, Rachel Potter is certainly one country fans should be watching!
"I want to just be a voice for my generation and make good music people like to listen to and makes them happy when they hear it" she says.

Witness rescues toddler from railroad tracks
June 19, 2013 11:23 GMT
ROCKWOOD, Tenn. (AP) -- Authorities have arrested the parents of a toddler found alone on railroad tracks in Rockwood.
The Knoxville News Sentinel (http://bit.ly/1asg9U3 ) cited an officer's report which said a witness saw the 2-year-old on the rails and picked him up shortly before a train came through the town on Saturday.
Jonathan Noah White, who is 30, and 24-year-old Rahab Jaramillo were arrested and booked into the Roane County Jail on charges of aggravated child abuse and neglect.
The incident report states the child's grandmother told police the boy was often left with her, but she was on "too many medications" to watch him. The boy was put into Department of Children's Services custody.
