WBFF Fox 45 :: RAW NEWS: Downtown Employees Welcome Hockey Back
There are little signs that downtown is finally getting back to normal.

Take rabid hockey fan J.R. Smith for example.

Monday is the first time in months he's felt happy going downtown.

"It's hard to pass you know pass by here you know knowing I could be going to games but can't," said Smith.

The Predators lost 34 games to the NHL lockout including 17 home games.

Few noticed the void more than people who depend on hockey for a living.

Randy Fulton says the lack of hockey games meant slower nights waiting tables at Rippy's.

"Probably missing out on 3 to 500 dollars a week cause on those games when it's packed in here we do make good money," said Fulton.

It's estimated the Predators bring in $130 million to $150 million in economic impact for Nashville.

Those home games represent about $50 million of that.

"All we can do is apologize and say we're sorry and it was something that was necessary to do and we've done there.  Please forgive us please come back," said Predators GM David Poile.

Come back to a downtown that's ready for everything to be normal again.

"With this coming back we know we are getting ready to start making money again," said Fulton.

Body found in Percy Priest Lake
May 25, 2013 20:14 GMT

SMYRNA, Tenn. (AP) -- Authorities say a body has been found in Percy Priest Lake in Middle Tennessee.

WSMV-TV (http://bit.ly/16gYKys) reports officials with Metro Police, the Office of Emergency Management and Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency were at the scene Saturday at Hole In The Wall Island. The body was reported to authorities about 11 a.m.

TWRA officials say they believe the deceased man is a boater who disappeared in the lake two weeks ago.

Police said the agencies coordinated with each other to get a boat in the water and recover the body.
