WBFF Fox 45 :: Saving You Money: Black Friday Apps
As many of you are fine tuning your shopping strategy for Black Friday here are some helpful tips before you hit the stores. Stacy Case has the story in tonight’s Saving You Money.

You can keep up with a lot of circulars if you want but the easiest, most cost effective way to shop is with that perfect app. Black Friday App is a great one. It lets you browse Black Friday deals by category. The app also lets you make a list of things you're interested in.

At the store, but forgot your coupons?   Download “CouponSherpa.”  This app has in store mobile coupons that the clerk can scan right from your mobile device. Shop Savvy is another good app which lets you use your smartphone camera to scan prices and search for the best deals online and in the store. And you can budget your purchase down to the penny with the Discount and Tax Calculator App. This lets you estimate the savings, including the sale price before you ever leave the house. And you know how crowded some retailers can be on Black Friday...

To help, Wal-Mart has worked with crowd control consultants across the country to develop this app which will take you right to the items on your list.

“It actually has an in store feature so you can make your shopping list ahead of time of what you want to map out and it will take you aisle by aisle where you need to go inside the store to find that item,” said Dianna Gee a spokesperson for Wal-Mart.Saving You Money: Black Friday Apps

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Gov. Bill Haslam says chief deputy Claude Ramsey is retiring at the end of August to spend more time with his family in Chattanooga.

The Republican governor said in a news release on Wednesday that the 70-year-old Ramsey has been integral to his administration on key initiatives that include civil service reform, economic development efforts, workforce development training and improved operation of state government.

Ramsey was elected to the General Assembly in 1972 where he served four years in the House. He was Hamilton County's mayor for 16 years.

His last day on the job is August 31.
