WBFF Fox 45 :: SAVING YOU MONEY: Bulk Buying
I'm Saving You Money on bulk buying.
Sure, it sounds good to buy up a bunch of stuff for later, but if it all goes bad, what have you saved?
One good rule of thumb is only buy what you'll be able to use in three months.

Warehouse clubs are great for saving on produce, olive oil, and meat.
However, when buying produce, choose from the bottom of the pile to get
the freshest.
I talked with "The Supermarket Guru" Phil
Lempert by Skype tonight about the importance of comparing the unit
price when trying to spot a true deal.
     He says, "Unit prices
are very important. Bottom line the product might look the same size.
Two examples I'll give you.  is coffee..  Most coffee cans are the same
height  but they range  from 11 oz up to 16 oz so you want to make sure
you're looking at that unit price.  Also, icecream What we've seen is
price of dairy that has gone up. Most major icecream companies the
exception being Ben and Jerry's that have taken that pint container 16
oz and lowered it to 14 oz.  so you want to make sure you're reading
that label very carefully."
Again, it's all about the unit
price.   I've found paper products are often cheaper at the regular
grocer when you use coupons.  Find all of my Saving You Money reports at

Tishomingo County voters OK beer, alcohol sales
May 22, 2013 23:38 GMT

IUKA, Miss. (AP) -- Tishomingo County is the latest Mississippi jurisdiction to legalize alcohol sales.

Voters approved the sale of liquor, wine and beer Tuesday, reports the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal (http://bit.ly/13JCcix).

It wasn't clear referendums would pass until affidavit ballots were counted Wednesday.

With more than half Tishomingo County's voters casting ballots, legalizing alcohol passed by 42 votes, while legalizing beer and light wine passed by 73. The county borders Alabama and Tennessee.

Lawmakers legalized liquor at a proposed resort at the county's Bay Springs Lake in 2010, but it wasn't built.

Greene County voters legalized beer sales last year, while Corinth, New Albany and Senatobia have legalized alcohol sales under a 2012 law that allows cities to hold votes.

Mississippi has 13 remaining counties that allow no beer or alcohol sales.
