I'm Saving You Money tonight on expensive formal dresses. The average cost of prom is about a thousand dollars. There are more than 400 prom dresses in storage waiting to go home with the perfect girl. All of these were donated to Archie's Promise, a non profit in Murfreesboro that gives dresses to teens who can't afford them. It's founder, Claressa Ham says, "They're thrilled and excited that this exists because you know other than that they might not have been able to go to prom."
To get a free dress, you need to show documentation that you're on free or reduced lunch, in foster care or that your parents are out of work.
Others can pay $25 for a dress. The giveaway is at Siegel High School in the 'Boro this Saturday from 9 until 3. Go to Fox17.com and click on Foxlinks for more info.
Also, I got a great tip on some cheap gas here at ZMart on Dickerson Pike in East Nashville. Prices are dropping to $3.36 a gallon tomorrow. That's 25 cents less than the average price locally. The sale starts at 6am and ends at midnight. ZMart says it's running this special the first Friday of every month.

Memphis libraries seeking funding
May 25, 2013 13:07 GMT
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- The public library system in Memphis is hoping to secure $2.9 million to add employees and increase its collection.
The Memphis Daily News (http://bit.ly/19BANxH) reports the Memphis Public Library & Information Center cites the figures as part of its strategic plan.
A study by the Friends of the Library and the Memphis Library Foundation found that during the past five years, the system's budget has been cut 21 percent and hours were reduced 20 percent.
The goal of the new funding would be to add 47 employees to the 18-location library system and increase the collections budget to $2 million from less than $1 million.
Library director Keenon McCloy says the plan is a "roadmap for the future."
