WBFF Fox 45 :: Story Behind The Song: Every Storm (Runs Out Of Rain) - Stacy McCloud
Nashville, Tn --   Hope is a human emotion we can all relate to and it was certainly something  Nashville songwriter Matt Warren was holding  onto when he came up with the title of the Gary Allan hit - "Every Storm Runs Out Of Rain, "I was learning a lot about myself" says the songwriter.

Recently dropped from Warner Chappell, Warren was working a side job mowing lawns and about to give up on his dreams, when the idea for the song literally hit him. "One morning we were mowing hud houses, it was hot and I was weed eating and a rock hit me on the face and really made me mad. Something came into my head and I said stop complaining you will get through this, you are learning something about yourself every storm runs outta rain" says Warren.

A few weeks later Warren had a songwriting session with Gary Allan and well known Nashville songwriter Hillary Lindsey.

"Originally it was more upbeat.  We were stomping on Gary's deck drinking some red wine. But it never felt awesome so we continued on to something else" says Lindsey.

Then, two writing sessions later, just as they were about to walk out the door, the song found new life. "Hillary sits at his piano while making coffee and starts playing what you hear today. I was like wow that would be cool for the title I had, every storm runs outta rain. She started singing the chorus you hear now and Gary kinda peaked around the corner and was like what is that. I said it's happening you better come on over. Then
Gary started singing this verse melody and literally at that point I remember almost everything that came outta our mouths was keepers" says Warren.

The song quickly came together and the two left hopeful that they had landed a single on Alans highly anticipated 9th studio album.

"We were like jumping up and down inside and got in car and were like omg I can't believe this" laughs Hillary.

Gary cut it as his first single.
Lindsey remembers the day she heard it on the radio for the first time, "I pulled into some random driveway in Green Hills and was like please don't get mad at me I just wanna listen to my song. Sat there for entire thing. It's so exciting"

The song is special to all three for a different reason. Lindsay is no stranger to number ones, this makes her ninth, but it's the first single she's ever had that's been cut by a guy!
For Allan, it's his first number one as a songwriter and for Warren - it's his first number one -  ever.

" I remember feeling that feeling when they say it's happening. Gary says it's the best day of landscaping you've ever had" laughs Warren.

Hillary Lindsey is the female that you hear singing with Gary Allan on the song.

Miss. chooses new firm to run Woodville prison
May 18, 2013 20:50 GMT

WOODVILLE, Miss. (AP) -- Mississippi officials have picked a new company to run the Wilkinson County Correctional Facility.

Utah-based Management and Training Corp. announced Friday that the Mississippi Department of Corrections has chosen it to run the 1,000-bed prison starting July 1, the Natchez Democrat reports (http://bit.ly/10MvOGv).

Corrections Corporation of America, based in Nashville, Tenn., had run the prison since 1998. MTC says it will keep "the vast majority" of employees.

MTC will get a five-year contract to run the prison with two one-year options. Last year, officials chose MTC to take over East Mississippi Correctional Facility, the Walnut Grove Correctional Facility and the Marshall County Correctional Facility from the GEO Group. MTC won 10-year contracts for each.

CCA still runs the Tallahatchie County Correctional Facility and the Adams County Correctional Center in Mississippi.
