The National Weather Service was in Rutherford County this morning to assess damage after a possible tornado touchdown.
The NWS Storm survey team was sent out to the 800 block of Floyd Road in Eagleville to determine if roof damage sustained to a house was caused by a tornado. Trees were also knocked down in the area. A funnel cloud was reported by law enforcement around the same time. All of this information lead the survey to say an EF0 touchdown in the area.

Man charged with faking marriage to visit inmate

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (AP) -- Washington County authorities say a man faked a marriage certificate so he could visit a woman held in the Johnson City Detention Facility.
The Johnson City Press (http://bit.ly/14QBr9L ) reports investigators discovered the ruse after the May 14 visit by 32-year-old Robert S. Hicks of Elizabethton. Hicks was arrested Tuesday on a charge of criminal simulation. He was jailed at the Washington County Detention Center in lieu of $10,000 bond, pending a court appearance Wednesday.
