WBFF Fox 45 :: Tail End of Holiday Traffic Still Coming Through
While it's back to work and school for many of us after this Thanksgiving holiday, some people are still enjoying their vacation. According to the Nashville International Airport, it looks as if the holiday travel period has been extended, and instead of a Sunday return home, a lot of people are choosing to wait later. yesterday was a huge travel day for Americans. The Sunday following Thanksgiving is considered one of the biggest travel days of the year, and while it was very busy, it's expected to be just as busy today and tomorrow too. A lot of people who tried to avoid the airport traffic over the weekend may run into just as many crowds today and tomorrow. This week we'll be seeing a mixed crowd of holiday and business travel. BNA is expecting double its normal volume, over 19,000 passengers through Tuesday, so we're still going to see longer lines at the ticket counter, at the security gate, and baggage claim, along with an increase in traffic.

"It's something we plan for and our operations and public safety, maintenance, and customer service is something we plan for," says BNA Spokeswoman Emily Richard. "All of our tenants stay open later, open earlier, and make a concerted effort to staff up during this time."

This is the busiest bulk of travel we plan to see throughout the holidays. While holiday travel is up this year, most people choose to travel during the Thanksgiving holiday and tend to stay closer to home during Christmas.Tail End of Holiday Traffic Still Coming Through

Houston brother will be his own attorney in court
June 18, 2013 13:02 GMT

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- A Roane County man will face federal gun violation charges next month without an attorney.

The Knoxville News Sentinel (http://bit.ly/17VlXpM ) reported Rocky Joe Houston will represent himself on a charge of possession of a gun by a felon.

The charge came after Houston earlier represented himself in state court on charges stemming from a police chase. He was convicted of evading arrest and reckless endangerment.

Houston and his brother, Leon Houston, were tried, but not convicted, in the 2006 shooting deaths of a Roane County deputy and his ride-along companion.

In federal court, Rocky Joe Houston is claiming the officer who charged him with the felony had no legal authority.
