WBFF Fox 45 :: Tennessee Still Winless in the SEC After 51-48 Four OT Loss to Missouri
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Andrew Baggett kicked a 35-yard field goal in the fourth overtime period Saturday as Missouri rallied from a two-touchdown halftime deficit to beat Tennessee 51-48 at Neyland Stadium.
Missouri forced overtime when James Franklin threw a 25-yard touchdown pass to Dorial Green-Beckham on a fourth-and-12 play with 47 seconds remaining.
Each team scored touchdowns on its first two overtime possessions, including a 5-yard run by Tennessee holder Tyler Drummer on a fake field-goal attempt. Each team reached the end zone again in the third overtime but failed to make its ensuing two-point conversion attempt.
Missouri's defense finally came through in the fourth overtime when safety Ian Simon broke up a fourth-and-3 pass to Zach Rogers from the Missouri 18.
Tyler Bray threw for 404 yards and four touchdowns for Tennessee (4-6, 0-6). Franklin threw four touchdown passes and Kendial Lawrence ran for two scores for Missouri (5-5, 2-5).Tennessee Still Winless in the SEC After 51-48 Four OT Loss to Missouri

Man pleads guilty to Memphis officer's murder
May 21, 2013 22:22 GMT

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- A former death row inmate is set to be released from prison after he pleaded guilty to second-degree murder of a Memphis police officer.

Shelby County District Attorney Amy Weirich said Tuesday that she has accepted Timothy McKinney's guilty plea.

McKinney was convicted of first-degree murder for the fatal shooting of Officer Don Williams. The officer was killed outside a comedy club in December 1997.

McKinney appealed and won a new trial, which ended with a deadlocked jury. A third trial earlier this year also ended in a hung jury.

The Commercial Appeal reports that McKinney was sentenced to 15 years in prison. Since he's already served more than 15 years -- including 11 on death row -- McKinney will be released this week.

Williams' family opposed the settlement.
