Two men posed as police officers on three separate occasions targeting elderly women in north and east Nashville.
According to Metro Police, the incidents happened on Nov. 13, 14 and 15. In two of the cases, the suspects drove the victims, ages 77 and 78, to their banks where the women withdrew $11,000 and $1,000.
The 77-year-old discovered envelopes instead of $11,000 when she checked the bag after being dropped off back at home. The suspects told the 78-year-old that they would keep the $1,000 for safekeeping.
In the third case, the men were driving the 87-year-old victim to her bank when she told them she felt ill. They drove her home but she had already given them $1,200 cash in an envelope. They returned the envelope but replaced the money with newspaper.
The suspects, who appeared to be in their late 50's, were carrying radios and badges, and drove a dark blue or black four-door sedan or SUV.
One of the suspects went inside the bank with the 77-year-old victim while she withdrew money. Anyone who recognizes him from the attached surveillance photos is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.

Haslam's chief deputy Claude Ramsey to retire

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Gov. Bill Haslam says chief deputy Claude Ramsey is retiring at the end of August to spend more time with his family in Chattanooga.
The Republican governor said in a news release on Wednesday that the 70-year-old Ramsey has been integral to his administration on key initiatives that include civil service reform, economic development efforts, workforce development training and improved operation of state government.
Ramsey was elected to the General Assembly in 1972 where he served four years in the House. He was Hamilton County's mayor for 16 years.
His last day on the job is August 31.
