Irving Berlin's most famous song comes to life on stage, through
incredible dance numbers, exquisite costumes and a heart warming story
that - despite it's name - actually has little to do with Christmas!
"I
think it has a lot ot do with being thankful. So I think it's just as
much a Thanksgiving show as it is Christmas. It's not until the last
scene that it takes place on Christmas Eve" says cast member Ruth
Williamson
What you see on stage is based on the 1954 movie, but the stage adaptation offers much more than you've ever seen on screen!
"The
stage version has more music, more big dance numbers with the entire
company, fantastic tap routines that will knock your socks off and some
songs that aren't in the movie that are unknown" says Williamson.
The storyline follows two song and dance men who are coming to help save their former army buddy.
The
general has retired to an inn that isn't doing very well so these two
guys decide to put on a show in his barn and save the inn" says
Williamson.
And like with most musical comedy - there is some romance.
"I
play Martha Watson who is the concierge of Inn, in which the general
owns. I am kind of his romantic interest" says Williamson.
The cast says that so far Nashville has been a great audience.
"They are so warm and lovely. We walked away floating on air after the show Tuesday night"

2 appellate court judges are stepping down

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Two Tennessee appellate court judges have notified Gov. Bill Haslam that they will not run for another term on the bench in the August 2014 retention election.
Patricia J. Cottrell, a judge on the Court of Appeals, and Joseph M. Tipton, who sits on the Court of Criminal Appeals bench, will both leave after September of next year.
The announcements come after the state legislature left Tennessee without a way to replace judges who step down or die when a commission expires at the end of next month.
Members of the soon-to-be-defunct Judicial Nominating Commission will make recommendations for replacements to give to Haslam before the panel expires. Haslam will appoint the replacements from those recommendations.
