A man who was coaching youth football this time last month faced a judge on murder charges.
We are learning more about 39 year old Lorenzo Jenkins--- the man police believe murdered three members of a family in west Nashville.
We uncovered pictures of Lorenzo Jenkins and his family.
And they are not pictures you would expect to see from a man appearing in court for the murders of Wendy, Patrick and Deborah Sullivan
Pictures maybe worth a thousand words, but these pictures of Jenkins showing him as an assistant coach on his step son's football team in Gallatin, attending church for his daughter’s dedication or cuddling on the couch with his baby don't tell the whole story according to police.
In a courtroom Wednesday it was a much different picture.
As Jenkins sat in an orange jumpsuit the gruesome details of the triple homicide at 5800 Maxon Drive were released.
Charles K Taylor, Metro police detective west precinct says, “All three victims had multiple what I believe to be stab wounds most to the neck area- very few on the actual torso of the body somewhere actually behind the head in the neck area.”
According to testimony by Detective Taylor, police believe 26 year old Wendy Sullivan was killed first followed by her mother 48 year old Deborah Sullivan and lastly 56 year old Patrick Sullivan, on October 22nd sometime between 9am and 2pm.
Police believe a knife was the murder weapon because a piece of it was actually found in one of the victims.
Taylor says, “It was in Patrick’s back the knife had actually broken off into his spine and it was found inside the shed next to his body.”
Police say a bloody palm print was found on a door trim in the hallway that matched that of Jenkins as well as blood that matched Jenkins’s DNA.
Police say when Jenkins was arrested they noticed small cuts on his left hand and a wound on his upper forearm.
Jenkins did not admit to the murders but he did speak to police during a video tapping about the crime ... His reason?
Taylor says, “He said he wanted to talk to us and tell us what happened he didn't want people to think he was a monster.”
No one from the bison youth football team in Gallatin would comment neither would his fiancé.
Jenkins has a prior record of robbery, aggravated burglary and felony theft.
Police are still searching for 2 persons of interest who were seen at the house on the day of the crime.
Jenkins’s case has been bound over a Grand Jury.

Houston brother will be his own attorney in court
June 18, 2013 13:02 GMT
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- A Roane County man will face federal gun violation charges next month without an attorney.
The Knoxville News Sentinel (http://bit.ly/17VlXpM ) reported Rocky Joe Houston will represent himself on a charge of possession of a gun by a felon.
The charge came after Houston earlier represented himself in state court on charges stemming from a police chase. He was convicted of evading arrest and reckless endangerment.
Houston and his brother, Leon Houston, were tried, but not convicted, in the 2006 shooting deaths of a Roane County deputy and his ride-along companion.
In federal court, Rocky Joe Houston is claiming the officer who charged him with the felony had no legal authority.
