The family of one baby with a heart defect is helping another in the same situation.
    Both infants have been introduced in stories right here on Fox 17.
     Baby Andrew who needed a heart transplant and baby Phoenix who has Blue Baby Syndrome.   
Both children have endured so much in their short lives- but it was through one family reaching out to help the other that would bring these two stories together.
Last time we saw baby Phoenix- he was being carried through the operation room doors for an open heart surgery...
    Baby Phoenix has what is commonly called Blue Baby Syndrome - a heart disorder that, in spells, can cause not enough oxygen to get into the blood.
    Since the surgery... Phoenix has been doing well.
    But as Phoenix's mom Misty Garrett celebrates one victory... She also prepares for another battle.
Misty Garrett says, “Not being able to work since January has been really tough- I have more bills than I have income and we have tried to do fundraisers but the two fundraisers that we have done have actually cost me money.”
Garrett says she could be just hours away from her landlord beginning the eviction process and on Saturday her vehicle's transmission stopped working.
    The same vehicle she needs to get her son to and from his doctors’ appointments. 
But even through her struggles- Garrett was moved by a little boy, Andrew who also faced heart problems.
Misty Garrett says, “I was on his Facebook page and I saw there was a call button and I was just like thought maybe I can call and see what I can do for them because Andrew’s family has been in the hospital since he was born.”
It would be through reaching out to help a child much like her own that she found help for her family
Karen Semich says, “To know that she would want to give something that she doesn't even have herself is just... Amazing.”
Karen says after hearing Misty's story she immediately created a Facebook page, a fundraiser page and a tee shirt design for phoenix- just as she did with Andrew.
    Within an hour- Andrew’s Facebook fans became phoenix's and someone donated 100 dollars.
Misty Garrett says, “That means I am 100 dollars closer to being able to stay in my home.”
Karen Semich says, “It wrecks your heart- it does it just- it breaks me down because I am so - we are so lucky to have healthy kids.”
Karen says she hopes both babies have a long healthy life- and says the families shouldn't have to suffer financially while the babies get there.
On November 25th from 7 to 11pm there will be a concert benefiting baby Phoenix at the hard rock cafe.
    Tickets are 10 dollars.
